Children’s sermon was from How being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. He brings us in from the field and washes all the dirt off us. He opens us up and empties all the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, and anger among many more. He then carves us a new smiling face and puts a light inside us for all the world to see. John 15:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:6, Psalm 71:23, Matthew 5:16.
Bro. Gale’s message came from Exodus 15:11. How close are You to the Lord Today? You are as close to the Lord as you want to be. The way you dress, the sign over the door, how much you give to charity or church does not make you Holy. The only reason anyone or anything is Holy is because of the presence of God. We have the power within use to become Holier today than we were yesterday. God has a Holy book. All scripture is given by inspiration of God. Because the Bible is inspired by God, this makes it Holy. We have the privilege of opening our Holy Bible every day and applying His word to our lives. So why aren’t we? God also has a Holy place. Your church is a Holy place. Because of God’s presence we need to treat the house of God as Holy. Lastly, God has a Holy people. God wants us to move toward Holiness. We are Holy because of His presence in us. Being obedient in His word brings us closer to Him.
If you have a need, maybe the church can help.
